NXT ‘LADDER UP’
Enabling Social Mobility & Building Community
NXT Level Sport & Education was founded by Gavin English and Kevin Molloy, shaped by lived experience and a belief that access to opportunity can change lives. Both benefited from sport and the generosity of others at critical moments, and set out to create those same opportunities for young people who might otherwise miss out.
What began as grassroots provision for under-served communities quickly grew into something more ambitious. Frustrated by limited access to affordable, high-quality spaces and values-led activity, Gavin and Kevin built NXT Level as a facilities management and delivery organisation designed to genuinely serve schools, communities and young people.
As the work expanded, NXT Level LADDER UP was created as the charity alongside the organisation. Ladder Up delivers sport, arts and enrichment through the spaces NXT Level manages, supporting young people into training, qualifications, mentoring, employment and future-skills pathways, while also backing young entrepreneurs to launch community-interest ventures of their own.
Together, NXT Level and LADDER UP turn access into opportunity, and opportunity into lasting impact.
Access
The first step on the LADDER UP.
Accessible, enriching sports, arts and education activity for young people developing skills, attitudes and attributes, regardless of their socio-economic status.
‘Process’ students mentor and support those on the ‘Access’ scheme learning the value of giving back and creating interconnected pathways centred on social responsibility and collaboration. In turn, ‘Process’ recruits earn funded qualifications and participate in programmes to increase self-esteem, develop employability and soft skills and enable agency, a sense of belonging and contribution.

Equipped and enabled, mentally and physically fit, NXT LADDER UP graduates take their first strides into the world of employment. Through NXT Level and our partners, our young adults are given employment opportunities and supported with entrepreneurial efforts which align with our mission, their passions and play to their strengths.

Ladder Up x 2Simple #EduFootyAid
Ladder Up have teamed up with 2Simple to deliver the EduFootyAid national charity football initiative for the education community. All proceeds go to Mind, the mental health charity, and Ladder Up, who provide developmental activity in sport, the arts and education for those who face barriers to access.
The initiative has already raised over £15,000 for Mind and is open to all men and women who fancy a kick-about. If you are a school or educational institution and you are interested in setting up your own event for your local educational community, please follow the link below!

If you are interested in participating in our NXT Level activity but face barriers to access, please get in touch with us to discuss how we can help to support you. We offer free and subsidised access to activity for all pupil premium children and, if you have any other accessibility needs beyond this, we are always keen to find solutions for how best we can help get you involved!
